1) Kareri Lake trek - 3 days (Dharamshala to Dharamshala)

A short and a beautiful trek for those who want to experience trekking & camping in the Himalayas. These 2 days of trekking to and from the Kareri lake is a perfect way to get started. One night camping in the outdoors, camping under the stars, using sleeping bags and tents gets the adrenaline rushing. Anyone who wants to try hands on trekking, this is one of the shortest itineraries to start with. This trek in Himachal is easily accessible and doable in most of the months.

2) Deoriatal – Chandrashila trek 4 days (Haridwar to Haridwar)

Chandrashila Trek lies in Uttarakhand region is a great choice for beginners. The trek is between easy to moderate and is the best trek for people looking to explore the Indian Himalayas. Chandrashila Trek gives a clear view of some great Himalayan Peaks including Bandarpoonch, Kedar, Chaukhamba peaks and many more.

3) Valley of flowers - 6 days (Haridwar to Haridwar)

Valley of flowers is one of the oldest treks in our country. Till date many people who want to start trekking, choose Valley of flowers as their first trek. For many years, this was one trek most suitable for Beginners. A sheer trekking experience with proper accommodation in local stays/ hotels. The valley consists of nearly 300+ varieties of flowers. Not all the flowers bloom at the same time, still one can witness most of them. There is a grave of a botanist Joan Margaret Legge that can be visited if time in hand. 4) Dayara Bugyal trek 6 days (Dehradun to Dehradun)

Dayara Bugyal is one of the largest high altitude meadows in Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. It also serves as a great Alpine and Nordic Skiing destination because of its large slopes at Dayara Bugyal. You walk through a number of lush green meadows. You will also get to see some of the most high range peaks of Uttarakhand including, Black Peak (Kalanag), Bandarpoonch, Srikanth, Jaonli, Gangotri Massif (I, II,III) and Draupadi ka danda on this trek. Dayara Bugyal is not so commercial so far but it is stunningly beautiful.

5) Kedarkantha - 6days (Dehradun to Dehradun)

A wonderful trek with a summit to 12,500 feet with 360 degree views of the Himalayas, Kedarkantha is one of the most popular treks for beginners in Uttrakhand. It is an all seasons trek and is best enjoyed from December - January - February - March - April months. A trek into thick dense forests, trails over fallen leaves, climbs over snow, (depending on the month you choose) camping at some beautiful sites, sliding down from the summit on patches of snow, are some of the amazing highlights of this trek.

6) Brahmatal - 6 days (Kathgodam to Kathgodam)

A very scenic trek from Lohajung. The Brahmatal pass at 12,200 feet from where views of Mt. Trishul (7,120meters) and Nanda Ghunti(6,309 meters) are up close. The famous route of Roopkund trek can be spotted from a few areas on this trek. Wanderers categorizes this trek as beginners & a good choice for anyone who wishes to experience trekking in the Himalayas. 2 nights camping near and around lakes - Bekaltaal and Brahmatal, this trek is attracting many trekkers.

7) Dodital trek 6 days (Dehradun to Dehradun)

Dodital is a perfect beginner level trek. Dodital Trek (Dodi Lake) is at a height of 3310 Meters & Darwa pass at a height of 4140 Meters, making it a great choice for people wanting to explore trekking as a sport. Dodital trek can practically be done throughout the year. It is also a beautiful trek when attempted in winters. Trekkers looking to trek and camp in the snow should attempt the Dodital Trek in winters.
