Welcome to Arunachal Pradesh!! One of the most beautiful region of India. The state that borders with Bhutan in the west, Myanmar in the east and with states of Assam and Nagaland in the south.

In this exploration, we will be covering some of the hidden, unexplored or less travelled treasure like the Siang river & valley, Siyom river and valley, the confluence of Siang and Siyom, Galo Tribe, Mechuka valley, Samten Yongcha Monastery, Indo-China Border and Lhalum village.

This experiential exploration will leave you with some incredible memories to cherish.

Itinerary

Day 1: Dibrugarh to Pasighat (160 kms; 4 hours)
Pickup from Dibrugarh airport and drive to Pasighat, a small town in Central Arunachal located on the banks of the Siang river. On the way you will cross over the Bhogibeel bridge, a six-kilometre bridge over the Brahmaputra. Overnight at Abor Country River camp or similar

Day 2: Pasighat to Along (100 kms; 5 hours)
After breakfast drive up the Siang valley till you reach Sangam, the confluence of Siang and Siyom river. Over here you will take a detour to visit a 600-foot hanging bridge over the Siang river. From here continue driving down the verdant Siyom valley, dotted with small villages peppered on the hill slopes. The condition of this stretch of the road is very bad and will take a lot of time. Day 3: Along
In the morning set out to visit a village of the Galo tribe, learning about their customs, culture and lifestyle. During your walk through the villages you will be impressed by their mastery over bamboo and cane which are used to make everything from their grand houses, to intricate baskets and a unique Galo cap. The women folk are no less, matching their skills in local weaves.

In the morning you will visit Paya and Kuge village, followed by a walk to Darka village in the evening. Overnight at Reyi homestay

Day 4: Along to Mechuka (183 kms; 7.5 hours)
Brace yourself for a long drive through verdant valleys. All through your drive you keep seeing sparsely populated villages dotted in the midst of lush green mountains. By evening reach the fabled Mechuka valley where you unwind in the warmth of your host family. Overnight at Geboo homestay

Day 5: Mechuka
After breakfast head out for a walk to Dorjeeling village learning about the culture and lifestyle of the Memba tribe. Traversing through the rice, maize and millet fields will give you a good idea about their agricultural practices. Later in the day climb up to the Samten Yongcha gompa built sometime in the 15th century. We will get stupendous views of Mechuka from this gompa perched on top of a hill. Day 6: Mechuka
Today you will go for a drive towards the China border, a scenic road passing through verdant forest, where you can take a leisurely walk enjoying the nature and tranquillity of the place. On the way back visit a small gurudwara which is believed to have been blessed by Guru Nanak.

In the second half visit the village of Lhalum to learn about some mythological beliefs of the Memba tribe. Overnight at Geboo homestay

Day 7: Mechuka to Along (183 kms; 7.5 hours)
Commence your return journey to Along. Overnight at Reyi homestay in Along

Cost Includes:
• Accommodation on a twin sharing basis in hotels / homestays mentioned in the itinerary

• Transportation using dedicated Scorpio or similar for the duration of the trip , for 6 people and 8 people 2 vehicles will be provided
• Permits for Arunachal Pradesh
• Local guides in Along and Mechuka

• Excess stay & meals due to bad weather conditions or strikes, resulting in delay of flights or any other form of transport.
