Description

Bir is a small village located in the west of Joginder Nagar Valley in the state of Himachal Pradesh in northern India. Referred to as “Paragliding Capital of India”, Bir is famous for adventure acivities including trekking, paragliding, mountain biking, and hand gliding. In addition, it is also a noted centre for ecotourism, spiritual studies and meditation. It is also home to a Tibetan refugee settlement with several Buddhist monasteries and a large stupa. While Billing is the take-off site for paragliding and Bir village is for landing; collectively it is known “Bir Billing”.

Nestled among snow-capped hills, serene landscapes, and artistic temples, it is located at an elevation of 5000 feet. The season for paragliding is from October to June. The temperature range is between 5 – 30 degree centigrade.

Itinerary: 2 Nights and 3 Days

Day 1:- Arrive Bir and overnight stay in Camp Oak View,Bir. Arrive at Bir and Camp Oak View, check in time 1400 hours, hike to nearby village and sunset point. Dinner around Bonfire and Overnight stay at Camp Oak View, Bir.

Day 2:- Paragliding session and Waterfall trek. After breakfast, drive to Billing for Paragliding session and land at Bir. Spend sometime at Landing area for lunch in any Café or restaurant near and later drive to the starting point of waterfall Trek. The trek is 45 minutes, spend some time there and trek back or drive to Camp.

Dinner around Bonfire and Overnight stay at Camp Oak View.

Day 3:- Departure Morning post breakfast check out at 1000 hours and depart

Inclusions:
• Accommodation for 02 nights at Camp Oak View, Bir on twin/triple sharing basis.
• Waterfall trek
• Trek start at 0900 hrs on day 2, Guide for trekking.
• 15 to 20 min Paragliding session.
• Local transport on day 2
• Meals as mentioned in the itinerary.
• Complimentary Video of Paragliding.

Exclusions:
• Travel insurance covering medical evacuation, hospitalization, baggage insurance and trip cancellation.
• Any meals other than specified in the program.
• Mountain Biking session.
• Any en-route or personal expenses such as alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages, telephone calls, tips & gratuities, laundry etc.
• Paragliding weight limit is 15-95 kg, if weight is between 95-115 kg the paragliding team charge INR 500/- extra and decide it at the time of paragliding, depending upon fitness of person.
• Personal equipment for trek like clothes, shoes, day packs, personal medical kit etc. However, light weight carry-mattresses with sleeping bags will be provided by us inside the tents during the trek.
• Any exigency expenses caused by or liability for disturbance in trip program due to circumstances beyond our normal control. Such as airline delays, road blocks, vehicle malfunctions, weather conditions, sickness, natural disasters, riots etc.

Booking Procedure
To ensure the booking, 50% of the total payment at the time of booking and balance once you will check-in at the camp.

Cancellation Policy
• 20 days prior to travel date: Full refund of advance.
• 20 days to travel date: No refund.

By Air
Gaggal airport is the nearest airport from Bir BIlling, located at a distance of only 68 km from nearby Palampur. This airport is connected to Delhi through frequent flights. Contact no.: 01892-232374

By Train
Baijnath has its own Railway Station named as Baijnath Paprola Railway Station which is connected to the major cities of Kangra. It is situated on the Pathankot- Jogindernagar Narrow gauge rail head and is linked with the cities like Pathankot, Kangra and Palampur. Station Superintendent Pathankot: 01862-22041

By Road
Bir Billing is 68 km from Gaggal, 50 km from Dharamshala, 180 km from Manali, 200 km from Shimla, 280 km from Chandigarh, 500 km from Delhi and is connected through Goverment HRTC buses or private services.
