The Kedarkantha trek was amazing. It was my first winter trek and second overall with Wanderers. The amazing views which I experienced were just astonishing. Experienced snow fall for the first time. The journey for the beautiful Kedarkantha peak started from Dehradun which is a long drive to Sankri located at an altitude of 6400 feet and takes about 10 hours to reach covering a distance of about 220 kms. The trekking trip starts from Sankri the next day towards Juda Ka Talab which is based at 9100 feet and takes about 5 hours trekking to reach the destination. During this trail I experienced the beauty of lush meadows, dense pine forests, cascading beautiful streams, and gorgeous maple trees. This is the first campsite where we stayed in tents. From Juda ka talab next day we started trekking up to 11,250 feet towards Kedarkantha base which is again a distance of approximately 4.5 kms. In this trail we came across through lush meadows and for the first time got to view the multiple snowcapped peaks providing a 360 degree view. The food provided by Wanderers was yummy throughout over course till time. The next destination was the Kedarkantha peak which is based at a height of 12,500 feet and was a little challenging as compared to others. However the views of the fascinating Himalayas make it up for all the hard work with its breathtaking views. After reaching the peak it’s a journey back where the first stop would be at Horegaon camp at which we reached on the same day evening. The next day we made back to Sankri through dense pine forests. From Sankri it’s a journey back to Dehradun.
Kedarkantha Trek is one of the most fascinating and thrilling trek an thanks to Wanderers team for making it more exciting and amazing by proving good food, personal attention, medical support if required.
